Web design is the skill of accomplishing presentations of content usually in hypertext or hyper media language that is distributed to the user through the World Wide Web, by way of a Web browser or other Web approved software like Internet clients, micro blogging clients, RSS readers etc.
The reason behind web designing is to create a web site which is an array of electronic files that are available on a web servers and present in the form of content and associated features to the end user in form of Web pages. Such content can be placed on the web page using bit-mapped images (GIFs, JPEGs), HTML/XHTML/XML tags. Vector graphics, animations, videos, sounds requires plug-ins such as Flash, QuickTime, Java run-time environment, etc to display forms on a web page. Plug-ins is also enclosed into web page using HTML/XHTML tags. Commonly, web pages are analyzed as static web pages or dynamic web pages. Static web pages are those whose layout cannot be changed unless a programmer manually updates the page. A HTML page is such example of static webpage used in web designing. Whereas the content in the dynamic web pages can be updater or altered according to the client requirement by using client-side scripting languages like JavaScript, JScript, Action script, etc to change DOM elements (DHTML). Dynamic content is frequently accumulated on the server making use of server-side scripting languages like Perl, PHP, ASP, JSP, ColdFusion, etc.
