Most of the people want to create their personal web site, but don't know where to begin. Many people have FrontPage without its knowledge for web designing, if you have Microsoft Office, you may already have a copy of Front Page on a CD. One of the good things about Front Page 2002's is that it looks like the rest of Microsoft Office. If you are used to Office programs like Excel and Word, you may find it easy at home with Front Page because many of its guidelines are similar to the ones you used in other Office programs. If you want to place your company logo on your Web site's home page, you insert picture the same way as u do in Microsoft word. To change a font, you just have to highlight the text and click the suitable button on the Formatting toolbar.
Like PowerPoint and Word, Front Page uses unlike views to help you with web designing. Standard view is much like Word's Page view, it shows you a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) sight of the webpage. Another outlook lets you verify the HTML code behind the scene or preview the page in a browser.
People who use Adobe applications in web designing such as Illustrator and Photoshop will prefer Adobe Go Live because of its incorporation with other Adobe applications. Just as FrontPage behaves like the Microsoft's Office, Adobe GoLive works much like other Adobe applications and is designed to work well with them. For example, the new edition of GoLive features auto-optimization, which uses Photoshop technology to repeatedly resize and optimize Photoshop PSD files. It also lets you drag-and-drop Photoshop, Illustrator and LiveMotion files, so you can correct the foundation files within GoLive.
Adobe GoLive is a bit trickier to use than FrontPage. The software's target viewers are web designers. You have to drag and drop objects onto the page and then customize their settings using the context-sensitive dialog boxes.
Macromedia Dreamweaver is fairly a high-end program that is actually moved toward Web development. It assumes that you already have background knowledge on designing Web sites and understand issues such as Web-safe colors, browser compatibility etc.
In website designing, If you have a basic knowledge of HTML, working on Dreamweaver is a good way to find out a lot more and expand your knowledge to highly developed features like cascading style sheets and complex table formatting and layering. Dreamweaver offers outstanding documentation including an online HTML reference.
