[01/12/2009] CSS (key in web design)

CSS: Cascading style sheets, a style-sheet language which is used to explain the presentation semantics of any document in a markup language. It’s most general application is to format web pages created in XHTML or HTML. In addition this it can be applied over any type of XML document including XUL and SVG. Primarily it was designed to make the separations of document presentation and document content which is now one of the most important process in web design. This separation improves content accessibility, provides more control and flexibility. Same markup page can be represented in various styles for various rendering methods, such as in print, on-screen using CSS. In cascade, weights or priorities of style rules are calculated and then given to rules, so to make the results predictable.
