World Wide Web (WWW) has a directory which is called as the web directory or alternatively as the link directory. This directory contains the links to several different web sites and then they are classified into different categories.A web directory displays the names of the sites of various categories but does not display the web pages on the basis of keywords, i.e. it is not a search engine.
It includes only some of the selected categories, and displays the name of site based on the work of whole web site and not on the basis of a single page. One can have a glance at all the categories and the sites that indulged in them.
