[21/11/2009] How Many Domain Names Do I Need For My 1 Website?

Developed countries, such as UK, use a variety of powerful packages and tools in web design. Such tools are available to the designers and once used, they make the website efficient to the users and customers. Some of these packages have aspects such as huge open source library, extensive programming language support, hassle free FTP accounts and other features designed to make the website convenient to the users. England for example uses these packages and other not mentioned here. Such packages require skilled and competent web site designers to carry out website development and that has greatly increased over the last decade.

All companies nowadays run their transactions through the internet; this means one has to have a website and a domain name in place. The process of obtaining a domain is very easy and one only requires one single domain name. This however is the case for many website owners and the reason is mostly attributed with the ease of acquiring the so called domain. Some companies are using this mode to cover themselves by getting multiple domains. In parts of London and England many website owners stick to one domain name which is easier and better. There is no advantage whosoever of owning two or more domains. The thing is that, you'll be overloading yourself with unnecessary things that won't help you in any way, so stick to one domain.

The main thing when coming up with a sensible domain name and hence build an exciting website is to employ the use of upgraded web design tools which are readily available. In the recent years, a number of such tools have been launched in parts of the countries and website owners have now the availability of packages at their disposal. Therefore an exciting website goes hand in hand with a single domain name, so companies aspiring to design their site should focus on one domain and forward all their energy to developing their website.

A single domain requires lots of effort from the concerned parties in terms of development and promoting of that single domain. So in a nut shell it doesn't make sense for one to come up with two domain names, while the same purpose can be served efficiently using one. In other words, one would be wasting their available resources which could otherwise be channeled to other areas, say web design related issues. A lot of time is required in the whole process regardless of how much energy you have. In the UK, they have in place the necessary equipments, both manpower and web design tools and they still promote the use of one domain name.

One domain also avoids incident related confusion, in that customers cannot be confused easily as is the case in having two domain names. This can contribute to decrease in sales if customers are caught in the middle of that. In general, stick to one domain name as it reduces repetitive work and energy that could be used in other projects.
