To move the data and documents from one place to another, the Adobe Systems introduced a format called the Portable Document Format (PDF) in the year 1993. PDF file is free of the operating system, hardware and the application software and it correspond to a two – dimensional document. PDF file is composed of fonts, text, images and 2D vector graphics and it also briefly summarizes the theory of a fixed-layout 2D document.

A system was introduced by the co-founder of Adobe Systems that gradually developed the PDF file format.

On July 1, 2008, PDF was properly authorized and was introduced by the International Organization for Standardization.

PDF file has became very popular in web design in displaying some documents on a website.
