USB is abbreviation for Universal Service Bus. It is a mean for establishing communication between a computer (host controller) and devices. USB replaced many parallel and serial ports. It can be used with  various computer peripherals. These computer peripherals may be keyboard, web camera, mouse, printer, flash drive and external storage devices. For many devices, it is the standard method to make a connection. Firstly it was designed for computers but in today's era it is commonplace on many other devices such as Joysticks, Smart phones, PDAs etc. In 2008, approximately 2 billion USB devices sold.

Signaling rates of USB are following:
A) Low speed rate (USB 1.0) 1.5Mbit/s and USB 1.1 supports 12Mbit/sec
B) Hi-speed rate (USB 2.0) 480Mbit/s
C) Super Speed rate (USB 3.0) 5.0Gbit/s
