There was a very famous technology in the past that was used by the SEO to link the sites and that is called as the Reciprocal link building. A lot of changes have been encountered till now, but now also linking between the sites is very important to gain a high rank in the search engine. Google has never liked the concept of this reciprocal link building but it has a great interest in some of the new techniques of the SEO like commenting on the blog and also marketing socially.Whenever you visit any forum related to the SEO and want to see any information regarding the reciprocal link building, the result will be "yesterday and ineffective". It may be possible that you have used the technique of the reciprocal link building and when you visit the site, you may find that Google never liked this concept. As a result, you may feel hurt when you find this and may also get worried about the rank of your site. Moreover, there are some people that tell you that you site will be barred if you use the technology of exchanging the links.
Google disapproves the concept of Reciprocal link building and it may be possible that some of the SEO’s may contradict this statement. Many times, the search engine observes a link between the websites which act as a vote to another site for a specific topic. The link of an existing site to a new site is very important.
Reciprocal link building is still working as shown by some of the tests. It is believed that this technique of reciprocal link building is much better than any of the service given by the SEO’s. A test was conducted to prove this. Two sites were launched side by side and a test was conducted. The first site was guided by using the Reciprocal link building and the other was guided using the modern techniques. The result showed that the first site was able to get much higher rank in the Google searches than the other. As a result, first site brought more traffic than the other and more sales also were brought by the first site only. Ranking was improved a lot in the first case.
This help us to conclude that in spite of the absence of the Reciprocal link building these days, it is very effective by all means in comparison to the SEO’s and all other new techniques.
